Pininfarina Notes Stone Paper Hard Cover – Ruled

The Pininfarina Notes Stone Paper Hard Cover – Ruled is a stone paper notebook from Pininfarina Segno, designed to pair naturally with a fountain pen as well as pencil or ballpoint.

Why stone paper

Stone paper is made from calcium carbonate rather than wood pulp, which gives it a noticeably smoother writing surface, better resistance to tearing, and some water resistance compared with standard paper — useful if you write in damp conditions or simply want a page that holds up to heavy use. It also tends to show less ink bleed-through on the reverse side, which matters if you’re using a wet-writing fountain pen. Because it’s made without wood pulp, it’s also often marketed as a more tree-free alternative to standard paper.

Choosing paper for your pen

Fountain pen ink sits on top of the page rather than soaking in the way ballpoint or rollerball ink does, so paper quality matters more than it does for other pen types — cheap paper can feather, bleed through, or dry slowly. Stone paper largely avoids all three, which is why it’s become a popular pairing for fountain pen users specifically.

Who it suits

Journallers, sketchers, and anyone building out a fountain pen and notebook setup who wants paper that performs noticeably better with wet ink than standard copy paper.
